Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their company vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted a couple of their vans pink to raise funds for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider stated. “While the amount of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still leaves a large number of families who are struggling with this disease, and there is still a serious need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, reiterated Schneider’s thoughts. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in North Carolina – for women and men.”
