What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a few of the most usual cooling problems in Longmont.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner running but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so another issue to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these issues, you may be able to discover the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
