"Called Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning and was thankful they fit me in same day as my house was without hot water as my tankless Rinnai hot water heater (HWH) would only run loudly for a few seconds before shutting down with a 10 error code. Just before the technician arrived I found a 14 minute YouTube video that was a tutorial on my suspected issue with the Rinnai HWH. I watched it a few times and got started on the project as Im relatively mechanically capable and thought it worth a try. I got the face-cover off and about that tile the technician arrived. I described to him the presenting issue and I showed him a clip of the video I had watched showing that a small blower fan likely had taken in moths or lint and needed to be cleaned. Technician took a look and started talking about his dislike for Rinnai products which I now think is a reflection of his unfamiliarity with the product. Instead of removing the blower fan and cleaning it, he said it was behind a valve and something else and would be an all day project. I recommend a possible shortcut which was me grabbing my leaf blower and attempting to clean the venting/unit in a sort of shortcut/backwards approach. It turns out, that worked, initially, and discovered that the same problem occurred minutes after I paid $310 for the service call +1 hour labor, and he left. Also, had I not recommended the blower technique that only worked temporarily, I dont think any work would have occurred besides the tech voicing his displeasure with Rinnai. So, another night without water, wallet $310 lighter, and I decided Id tackle the project in the morning. I once again removed the cover plate and 1 digital display, disconnected 2 wire harnesses and removed 4 screws to then remove the expected issue, a dirty blower. It was obvious that this YouTube tutorial and the expectation were the issue: the blower was filled with dead moths and their residue. I cleaned the fan with compressed air and wiped out the housing. I reassembled and tested successfully, that I had repaired the HWH. I have bear zero HVAC/plumbing experience other than other projects that Ive tried on my own and Im disappointed that I paid top dollar for this Service Expert technician, to not perform in any meaningful way. Further proof that more often than not, YouTube is much cheaper and more effective for many problems we may encounter with mechanical issues. I understand that when encountering any given mechanical problem there can be any number of unknown causes and issues. I also simply know that Ill never use nor recommend the services of Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning"

"I was disappointed that I did not receive a veterans discount as indicated by stephen. As for the installation of sump pump, I think he did a good job but the check valve leaks water and the pump wouldn't turn off completely within the first 24 hours. I unplugged the pump and allowed the water level to rise above the pump, plugged back in and the pump operated normally. Seems to be operating normally now; don't know what the problem was but have second thoughts on having the work done."

"At one point there were four vans parked here. Young men inside, outside, and on top of my home. They were all confused and debating how to proceed, including "what we will do next if this doesn't work." I don't believe the "Experts" logo is accurate. They were here for over 8 hours the first day; had to return the next work day to finish hooking up the electricity for the AC because they didn't know how. I had to call them back yet a third time because nobody turned back on my hot water heater. This "service" was nothing but frustrating."

In the end I was told wed have one installed no worries, humidifier has not been installed. "continuous lock=out of boiler is issue that has plagued its operation since installation. techs do not appear competent to trouble shoot issue. latest opinion is that $1000 valve needs replacement. In addition, when outside temperatures fall way below freezing boiler can only maintain temps approximately middle sixties. Tech suggested quality of water may be causing problems. I called Left Hand Water Co and inquired about this possibility. They said thy have never had experience with r water causing boiler issues. Can you find an expert tech that can analyze this problem??? I am open to your suggestions.."

"Your tech probably has informed you of my exasperation with the continuous failures of my boiler components. Every time tech come out they site a new issue as to why boiler locks out and requires reset. I agree to fix and invariably the lock out issue recurs and we start all over again. I have lost confidence in the competence of your diagnosticians. The latest culprit is a fill valve which somehow controls the pressure and low pressure was cited as the reason for lockout. Tech offered that we may have bad (too hard) water! Left Hand Water tells me they have never had any. customer complain of their water causing any boiler issues. I would welcome a second opinion if you will send experienced diagnostic tech to confirm this is a new failure thats occurred."

"Our furnace quit working on a subzero snowing night. I called in and was told that there was an on-call tech for the night....John. He called within the hour and we talked by phone. He said he would be here within the hour. He diagnosed the problem, got my furnace running and heating, had to order a part which would be in the next week. When the part came in, John came back during another snowstorm by foot, as his service vehicle was stuck in the snow several blocks from our house! He installed the part on the furnace, took off on foot back to his vehicle to wait to be towed out of the snow. What a super nice guy your tech John is!"

"Honestly, it depends. I've used Service Experts' for the 12 years I've lived here and the first several years were fine. They replaced my furnace, air conditioning and water heater in 2011 and everything has worked well. It is not the same company it was then and I can't honestly say I'd go with them if I needed a big repair. I do have them do annual checks and as far as I know they have been very honest. The person who came to do the furnace check-up also helped me sign up for the yearly contract which I had previously been told no longer existed and when I was paying monthly I had extreme difficulties over the payments for months I was double charged. I was also massively overcharged for a filter which I now buy independently. I'm told they are working on restoring trust in their service, so will see how things go."

"I would tell anyone who asked that the response time is great and the people are nice. I would also tell them that if any issues come up and your unit is under warranty to be more proactive than I was in getting a warranty replacement. I spent money on fixes that didn't fix our problem. When it finally came down to replacing a (in my opinion) defective gas valve, I was two months out of warranty. I would like to think Service Experts would have tried to contact Lennox and see if, under the circumstances of constant recurring furnace failure, Lennox would warranted the bad part. That, to me is good customer service. I have declined to answer questions 9 and 10."

"The company was more interested in selling us a new furnace than fixing our old one, but when we were firm we wanted a repair, we were told we should purchase OEM parts, so we did. Cold weather was due & they told us it would take a week to get the part. We called the office & asked why the part couldn't be shipped overnight & the manager said he would see that it was. A day later we got the part, the furnace was repaired & a few days after the repair, the furnace stopped working. They came out again & told us this is why we should have bought a new furnace. They did get the furnace to work, while they were here, but when they left, it didn't work again. Done with their shoddy service, the next day we called H&M Mechanical who sent a technician that day who told us we had a non-OEM ignitor that was the problem. He had an OEM ingnitor in his truck, replaced the bad one Service Experts sold us & the furnace has worked just fine since. When it's time to buy a new furnace we will call H&M, not Service Experts."

Previous Lu in was told it was leaking from the humidifier and they cleaned the line, saying it was fixed but it started leaking again within a few days. "Initial sale and installation of HVAC very questionable. Neighbor with same sized home, AC sitting next to ours told he was over sizing- we were later told we had under sized. Both installed same month. We just had a thousand dollars of labor done for warranted parts. Theyve had nothing fail. We bought the air purifier, it failed and then we learned its parts were obsolete and no longer available. We added the whole house humidifier, took the local shop at least three trips to install and get it to run properly. Have been on the monthly preferred customer plan, been told more than oncewith your warranty running out I believe it has another twelve months left. I think you should have reps from both the Service Exp. Home office and the Lennox manufacturer look at our equipment. It is almost laughable that identical equipment next door has not failed the way ours has. Not surprisingly that one of us was told the ac was under sized and the other told it was over sized. I have figured out that the current local mgmnt team is fairly new and cleaning up for the sins of the prior people, but I still have that equipment."

"To be clear I had two back-to-back services. I'm unhappy about the FIRST service: a routine A/C checkup/maintenance on 3/24 (ticket 111410). I woke up the morning of 3/25 with a burning smell and no heat and discovered that the can capacitor to the blower was left disconnected. I called and within two hours two other technicians (ticket 0111594) came, hooked it back up, and told me no damage was done. Still the burning smell has been horrible and I don't know if I believe that components weren't prematurely aged. Having been ripped off by multiple HVAC companies (fake carbon monoxide readings, etc.), I'm finding it hard to believe that neither of the first two technicians noticed that capacitor was not reconnected, and I'm also wondering if had I NOT called out the issue, perhaps I would have been sold something unnecessary."

"I was on travel when the repair appointment was made. The service person tried to upsell my wife a new furnace, saying ours was 10 years old (the Lennox high efficiency furnaces last 15-20 years). And this, after we had already scheduled and paid for the $800 repair. If the furnace really needed replacing (which it did not) the time to have mentioned that was during the previous visit when the current problem was diagnosed and the repair was ordered. During the regular furnace checkup in Fall 2021, I specifically asked the tech if the inducer motor was okay because during the 2020 checkup, the tech had mentioned it was showing signs of wear and to keep an eye on it. The tech during the most recent 2021 visit seemed in a hurry and said dismissively that it was fine. The inducer motor started to fail the beginning of this year, necessitating the most recent repair. I am seriously considering switching companies. More minor concerns: the repair person used an old inoperative phone number to try calling ahead that they were coming. This, despite the fact that I had updated the number after our last visit and the appointment has been confirmed by the scheduler using the correct number."

Once he completed the service he turned the water back on and accidentally turned in the sprinkler system. We did not notice until the next day when it warned up and the sprinkle came on.
